Job description

An HNW individual and his family based in Jeddah, KSA, require the appointment of a Sail Yacht Captain for their private 22m yacht moored in Jeddah, Kingdom Saudi Arabia.

The yacht is used for private & corporate occasions at least once to twice monthly. The family require a candidate with at least four years’ experience in captaining a smaller sized vessel with 2 deckhands.

It is essential that all permits/licences and certificates be up-to-date and that the latest technologies be mastered.

Responsibilities

Safe navigation and operation of the yacht
Setting up budgets and budget management
Hiring, leading, appraisal and dismissal of crew
Overseeing all upkeep of the vessel
Managing yacht refits and surveys
Being an ambassador the yacht, the family and their guests
Daily flexibility with hours and availability
Hands on approach to captaining a smaller yacht
Arranging of hospitality services & catering
Scheduling & rosters
Keeping an up to date travel log

Requirements

Calm and charismatic personality
Superior leadership, communication, management and diplomacy skills
Excellent knowledge of the vessel and navigation skills
Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in ISM and ISPS
Technical knowledge / troubleshooting
Ability to give instructions in emergencies
Organised and methodical
