Sail yacht captain M/F
Job description
An HNW individual and his family based in Jeddah, KSA, require the appointment of a Sail Yacht Captain for their private 22m yacht moored in Jeddah, Kingdom Saudi Arabia.
The yacht is used for private & corporate occasions at least once to twice monthly. The family require a candidate with at least four years’ experience in captaining a smaller sized vessel with 2 deckhands.
It is essential that all permits/licences and certificates be up-to-date and that the latest technologies be mastered.
Responsibilities
- Safe navigation and operation of the yacht
- Setting up budgets and budget management
- Hiring, leading, appraisal and dismissal of crew
- Overseeing all upkeep of the vessel
- Managing yacht refits and surveys
- Being an ambassador the yacht, the family and their guests
- Daily flexibility with hours and availability
- Hands on approach to captaining a smaller yacht
- Arranging of hospitality services & catering
- Scheduling & rosters
- Keeping an up to date travel log
Requirements
- Calm and charismatic personality
- Superior leadership, communication, management and diplomacy skills
- Excellent knowledge of the vessel and navigation skills
- Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in ISM and ISPS
- Technical knowledge / troubleshooting
- Ability to give instructions in emergencies
- Organised and methodical
