Job description

Shipowner is looking for a Head Chef for his 24m private-use catamaran, responsible for meal preparation and managing food supplies.

Position available from April/May (2024).
Fixed-term contract until October – shared cabin accommodation.

Responsibilities

Maintenance of the kitchen area (open kitchen)
Management and inventory of food stocks
Waste management with selective sorting
Preparation of self-service meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for a maximum of 8 people + 3 crew members
Table setting and serving
Weekly menu suggestions before departure on a cruise
Simple Mediterranean cooking (fish, seafood) that is varied and balanced
Management of purchases, keeping accounts to report to the Captain
Approval by the shipowner for the purchase of certain luxury products (lobster, caviar, crayfish...)
Interface with the captain and sailor

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar professional environment
Professional culinary diploma
Up-to-date ENG1 STCW 2010
Organized, autonomous, and dynamic individual
Good interpersonal skills
Sense of service and discretion
Ability to work in a team
Speak French and/or Italian and/or English
Driving license is a plus
