Job description
A privately operated 80-metre superyacht is seeking a Chief Engineer in Monaco to take full ownership of her engineering department at the start of a new ownership chapter.
The successful candidate will lead the technical team, oversee all on-board systems, and play a key role in shaping the department. Even-time rotation planned.
Responsibilities
- Operation, maintenance and repair of main engines, generators and all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and HVAC systems
- Leadership of the engineering department, including the second engineer and ETO, with watch and rotation planning
- Management of the planned maintenance system, spares inventory and engineering budget
- Class, flag and survey compliance, including preparation for audits and shipyard periods
- Fuel, bunkering and pollution-prevention operations
- Assessment of the department's future structure in liaison with the captain and owner
- 24/7 technical readiness during owner and guest periods
Requirements
- Y1/Y2 CoC (or unlimited equivalent) appropriate to the vessel's tonnage and power, valid and in date
- Valid STCW certification and ENG1 medical

Extensive experience as chief engineer on yachts of comparable size and complexity
- Methodical, calm under pressure and budget-literate
- Strong communicator with crew, captain and the owner's team
- Experience with refit and shipyard management — an asset
Work conditions

- Location: Mediterranean
Salary
€12,000–15,000 gross per month, depending on experience.
