Job description
We are seeking a Seasonal Captain for a 19m classic private motor yacht (Maltese flag), based at the Yacht Club de Monaco.
The yacht is used exclusively for day trips along the French Riviera, offering a refined yet relaxed cruising experience.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, proactive and detail-oriented Captain, comfortable managing a well-maintained classic yacht with a strong focus on upkeep, presentation, and smooth day operations.
Responsibilities
Navigation & Safety
- Full command of the vessel in accordance with maritime regulations.
- Safe navigation for day cruising itineraries along the Riviera.
- Weather monitoring and route planning.
- Ensuring all safety equipment is compliant and operational.
Technical & Maintenance
- Oversee and perform regular maintenance, with particular attention to:
- Varnish and woodwork (significant upkeep required)
- Engine checks and mechanical systems
- General cleanliness and presentation
- Liaise with shipyards and contractors (wintering in Italy – San Remo)
Guest Experience
- Deliver a professional yet relaxed onboard atmosphere.
- Ensure smooth, enjoyable day trips for the owner and guests.
- Discreet, service-oriented mindset.
Operations
- Manage fuel, provisioning, and day-to-day logistics.
- Maintain records (logbooks, maintenance schedules, compliance).
- Ensure vessel readiness at all times.
Requirements
- Valid Captain’s license appropriate for a 19m private yacht.
- Previous experience on similar-sized yachts (classic yachts a strong advantage).
- Strong hands-on maintenance skills, especially with varnish/woodwork.
- Good knowledge of the Mediterranean cruising area.
- Young, dynamic profile preferred.
- Male candidate requested by client.
- Team player with a positive, easy-going attitude.

Work conditions
- Location: Monaco (home port: Yacht Club de Monaco)
- Cruising Area: Monaco, Antibes, Saint-Tropez, Ibiza
- Program: Private, day use only (no crossings with guests)
- Vessel: 19m classic motor yacht (Maltese flag)
- Season: Immediate start (March/April) until mid-October
- Owner Profile: Private use, relaxed but high standards
- Additional: Dog onboard
