Electronics Engineer is an essential crew member aboard a mega-yacht. This position is specifically focused on onboard audio – visual systems, including television sets, sound systems, film projectors, home computers and Wi-Fi / Bluetooth systems. Strong computer, networking and household electronics skills are essential.
A candidate should have education in electronics, be an expert in problem solving, have the ability to interact and work directly with clients. He/she also should be able to assess the complexity of challenges where malfunctions of audio-visual systems aboard mega-yachts occur.
Job responsibilities of an Electronics Engineer on a yacht
- Daily maintenance and current repairs of all electronic, computer, audio – visual and communication equipment
- Ensure that all planned maintenance work is performed on these systems
- Coordinate operations with technicians (subcontractors)
- Develop his/her knowledge about onboard systems
