Skipperon a yacht plays a leading role, he / she is responsible for steering the vessel and taking the owners and their guests to desired destinations in complete safety and tranquillity.
The skipper ensures safety aboard the yacht during each stage of the voyage (quay, near the pier or moorage or while travelling)
His/her tasks and duties may vary depending on the place of navigation (near or far waters), and the size of the vessel; in any case the skipper must be prepared to face all possible situations at sea.
The skipper is responsible for ensuring the safety of passengers and the crew aboard the vessel, therefore he/she should pay particular attention to proper functioning of the yacht.
He/she will have to check that the windows and doors are tightly closed after mooring, and that the machines and systems are turned off (water pumps, gas cylinders).
To occupy this position, the skipper must know and put into practice a number of rules and keep the documentation relating to the vessel.
A potential skipper must have several qualifications and certificates
- Skipper’s certificate
- First aid training
- САР repair, maintenance of small boats is a plus
The skipper is also responsible for the cost management and financial reporting relating to expenses on the vessel. The ideal candidate for this position will be a nice and warm person. He / she is essential for the well-being of the crew and guests on the yacht.
